About Sabr Kollective

Sabr is the Arabic word for patience — not passive waiting, but the steadiness to keep going at something difficult without giving it up. It is the disposition the training itself asks for, which is why it is on the label.

The garment is drawn by subtraction. There is no tailoring to admire and no hardware. Branding is a small tonal roundel and a woven tab, and nothing else. What remains is cloth that has to do its job without being thought about, which is a demanding brief for a piece of clothing and the one we set ourselves.

Drop 001 is a single garment in eight colourways. Not a range trimmed down to look considered — one pattern we would rather keep improving than spread the attention across fifty.

It also means the fit is a known quantity. There is one size chart, one grade, and one set of measurements to get right, and every one of them is published on the fit guide.

It is built in two layers: an outer short above the knee, and a compression legging attached at the waistband that carries on below it. That construction exists for one reason — coverage that depends on a loose garment staying where you put it is not coverage at all.

The length is set from the movement rather than from standing still, which for a Muslim man means the squat and the sujud. There is a longer explanation of what the awrah is, and where the schools of law differ on it, on its own page.

The shell is a lightweight four-way stretch nylon woven with a matte finish, specified at 130–150 gsm so it moves in every direction and dries quickly. The liner is a heavier compression knit, chosen for opacity under load rather than only while standing.

Both compositions and both weights are listed on the product page, along with the reference number the factory works to.

Drop 001 is in development. Fabrics are specified and the tech pack is complete; swatches, lab dips and the pre-production samples are not signed off yet. We would rather say that plainly than print a certification mark we have not earned.

We produce in small runs and repeat what sells rather than forecasting a season. It means a colour occasionally goes out of stock for a few weeks. It also means we are not destroying what did not sell.
